TEAM has extensive support experience within the Primary Care sector, particularly amongst Primary Care Trusts and GP practices in England and Wales. We have been involved in several high profile national projects undertaken with both the Welsh Assembly and the NHS Connecting for Health.
Work in England has included providing the regional IM&T Education, Training & Development Advisers role for the NHS Information Authority - now Connecting for Health - in the South West Region. Working closely with the Regional Head of Information, this role involved use of our facilitation and team building skills to support local NHS organisations in respect of many of the key projects currently on the NHS development agenda, including Local Implementation Strategy teams and Primary Care Groups. We have been involved in the training and education section of the latest Requirements for Accreditation (RFA) for primary care systems, an evaluation of Education Training and Development (ETD) needs for primary care staff and the Health Informatics Competency Framework. They have also worked as training consultants on the PRIMIS project, where in addition to training and supporting data quality facilitators and have written MIQUEST queries to support the NSFs and written training modules to support Patient safety and Information Governance. More recently we have managed and implemented the IM&T DES for a number of PCTs and Delivered Information Governance training to over 200 0 practices across the country.
Woirk in Wales includes the national GP Computer Demonstration Project (GPCDP), the TEAM Telemedicine in Wales Project, General Practice Clinical Database Project and Improving IM&T Skills in General Practice (Post-Graduate Education Department, University College of Medicine),
In almost all of the above projects, the emphasis was on evaluating and developing IM&T skills in primary care. The approach generally involved the development of techniques and tools to evaluate current use of IM&T, produce Training Needs Analysis and practice IM&T strategies, deliver and evaluate training and measure improvements. One tool developed in the GPCDP was the IT Files , a practical guide to the development of IM&T in general practice, which has been widely used throughout Wales and Scotland.
In addition to Connecting for Health contracts we have worked closely with a large number of NHS and other organisations undertaking such work as Read coded training, MIQUEST training, training needs analysis, ETD strategies and plans, service reviews and facilitation. We have assisted in a number of PCT data extraction projests including PBC Reward Scheme in Durham and Primary Prevention work for North of Tyne.Reference sites are available for all our past work.
